James “Jim” Clayton Lewis, 78, ofDecaturpassed away at9:50 p.m.January 3, 2012inDecaturMemorialHospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at10:00 a.m.,Monday January 9, 2012at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Church,Mt.Zion.  A time of visitation will be from9:00 a.m.until service time at the church on Monday morning. Interment will be in St. Isidore Catholic Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard.  Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home,Mt.Zionis assisting the family with services.

 Jim was bornJuly 10, 1933inSt. Paul,MNthe son of Thomas Vernon and Elizabeth Victoria (Forner) Lewis.  He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.  He married Mary Margaret Addison onJuly 9, 1966.  She preceded him in death onSeptember 23, 2008. 

 Jim was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church,Mt.Zion.  He was a member of the knights ofColumbusfor several years.  He was retired from the US Postal Service and had been a member of the American Postal Workers Union.  He had a love for classical Music, fishing, gardening, long rides sight seeing, photography and working puzzles.

 Surviving are his nieces: Donna Breeze and her husband Bill of Decatur and Katherine Lewis o fCalifornia; great niece: Debra Valerio and her husband Lt. Col. Anthony Valerio of Colorado Springs, CO; great nephews: Daniel Breeze and his wife Sharlene of Buena Park, CA and Darry Breeze and his wife Beci of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-laws: Janice Lansford of Centralia, IL; Dorothy Fowler and her husband Norman of Mt. Vernon, and Wanda Addison of Moweaqua.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one brother.

I will miss Uncle Jim. I called him every month or so. I even visited him a couple of years ago. I would like to stay in contact with what's left of my family. I am the oldest daughter of Margie's sister, Shirley. We only have the two aunts left of the 11 born to Grandpa Bill & Grandma Myrtle- Aunt Dorothy Fowler and Aunt Janice Lansford.
